Removed tracking parameters
Clean tracking out of a URL
Shared links are often cluttered with tracking parameters — utm_source, fbclid, gclid, msclkid and others — that identify the campaign or person who shared them. This tool removes those parameters and leaves the rest of the link intact, so you can share a tidy, tracker-free URL. It also unwraps Microsoft Outlook SafeLinks: when a link points at safelinks.protection.outlook.com, the real destination is hidden in a url query parameter, and the tool extracts and decodes it back to the original. Every parameter it strips is listed so you can see exactly what changed. All parsing happens in your browser — the URL is never uploaded anywhere.
Common questions
Which tracking parameters does it remove?
Any utm_* parameter (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, …), the common ad-click IDs fbclid, gclid, gbraid, wbraid and msclkid, email-campaign markers mc_eid, _hsenc, _hsmi, vero_id and oly_* , the Instagram igshid, and referral markers ref and ref_src. Everything else in the query string is kept exactly as-is.
What is an Outlook SafeLink and how is it unwrapped?
Microsoft Defender rewrites links in email to go through safelinks.protection.outlook.com, hiding the real destination inside a url query parameter. This tool detects that host, reads the url parameter, and decodes it back to the original link — repeating if the link was wrapped more than once.
Does it change the rest of the URL?
No. It only unwraps SafeLinks and deletes known tracking parameters. The scheme, host, path, fragment, and every non-tracking query parameter are preserved untouched, so the cleaned link points to the same page.
Is my URL uploaded anywhere?
No. Parsing and cleaning are done entirely in your browser with the built-in URL parser. Nothing you paste is sent to a server, which is also why it works offline.
Why does it show me what was removed?
So the cleaning is transparent and you can confirm nothing important was dropped. Each removed parameter is listed with its value, letting you spot — for example — a parameter you actually wanted to keep.
