Add a tile to preview the repeat

Drop an image on the left and it fills this area, repeated edge to edge. Try half-drop or brick to hide seams, and adjust the scale — all in your browser, nothing uploaded.

Test a seamless pattern, locally

Drop a tile image and the tester fills the preview with it repeated edge to edge, so you can instantly see whether the seams line up or show a visible grid. Switch between a standard (block) repeat, a half-drop that offsets every other column by half a tile, and a brick repeat that offsets every other row — the three layouts surface designers use most. Adjust the scale to shrink or enlarge the tile and watch the density change live. The image is drawn to a canvas entirely in your browser, so your artwork is never uploaded anywhere.

Common questions

What does a seamless pattern mean?

A seamless (or tileable) pattern is an image whose edges match up when it is repeated, so a wall of copies shows no visible seam or hard grid line. This tester tiles your image so you can check that the top meets the bottom and the left meets the right cleanly.

What is the difference between standard, half-drop, and brick repeat?

Standard repeat tiles the image in a plain grid. Half-drop shifts every other column down by half a tile — common for wallpaper and textiles — which hides vertical seams and looks less rigid. Brick repeat shifts every other row sideways by half a tile, like a brick wall, hiding horizontal seams.

Does changing the scale alter my image file?

No. The scale slider only changes how large each tile is drawn in the preview. Your original image file is never modified or re-saved — the tester is for visual checking only.

Can I download the tiled result?

You can download a snapshot of the current preview as a PNG to share or drop into a mockup. The repeat and scale you see are captured exactly as shown.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The image is loaded through an in-browser object URL and drawn to a canvas on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, so it works offline and keeps your artwork private.
