Common questions
Do I need to allow camera access?
Only for live scanning. When you start the camera, your browser asks for permission and the video stays on your device. If you prefer, skip the camera entirely and upload an image of a QR code instead.
Why doesn't the camera work?
Camera access requires a secure connection (HTTPS) and a granted permission. On an insecure page, in some in-app browsers, or if you deny permission, the camera is blocked — use the image-upload option, which always works.
What can it decode?
Standard QR codes: URLs, plain text, phone numbers, emails, Wi-Fi join strings, and vCard contacts. The raw decoded text is shown; if it's a URL it's also shown as a clickable link.
Is the image or video uploaded anywhere?
No. Camera frames and uploaded images are decoded in your browser with a local QR library. Nothing is sent to a server — the content never leaves your device.
