Open any audio file your browser can decode — MP3, M4A/AAC, OGG, FLAC, WebM — and convert it to a new format. WAV is always available: it is uncompressed and plays everywhere. Where your browser can encode compressed audio, a WebM/Opus option also appears, giving a much smaller file. The tool detects what your browser supports and only offers formats it can actually produce. Browsers do not include an MP3 encoder, so MP3 output is not offered — use WAV, or WebM/Opus for a small file. Everything runs on your device: the audio is decoded and re-encoded in your browser and is never uploaded.
Common questions
Can I convert to MP3?
No — browsers do not expose an MP3 encoder, so MP3 output is not available client-side. Convert to WAV (lossless, universal) or, where supported, WebM/Opus for a small compressed file.
Which output formats are offered?
WAV is always available. WebM/Opus (and sometimes OGG/Opus) appear when your browser's MediaRecorder can encode them — the tool checks and only shows formats it can actually produce.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The audio is decoded and re-encoded entirely in your browser using the Web Audio and MediaRecorder APIs. Nothing is sent to a server.
Why is the WebM export slow?
Compressed export records the audio in real time through the browser's encoder, so it takes roughly as long as the clip's duration. WAV export is near-instant because it just repackages the samples.
