Test your touchscreen

Touchscreen Test checks that your touch panel registers input everywhere and tracks multiple fingers. Drag your finger across the pad to draw a line; a gap or a spot where the line breaks reveals a dead zone in the digitizer. Each active touch is shown as a labelled circle that follows your finger, and a counter reports how many touches are down at once — put several fingers on the screen to confirm the multi-touch support your device advertises. The tool also shows the maximum number of touch points the browser reports for your hardware. This test needs a touchscreen; on a mouse-only computer there is nothing to detect. Everything runs in your browser using standard touch and pointer events, and nothing about your input is stored or uploaded.

Common questions

How do I test for dead zones?

Slowly drag your finger across the whole pad, covering every area. A continuous line means the digitizer is reading that region; a break or gap where nothing draws points to a dead zone.

How do I test multi-touch?

Place several fingers on the pad at once. Each touch appears as its own labelled circle and the counter shows how many are active, so you can confirm your device registers the number of simultaneous touches it should.

It says no touch support — why?

The test relies on a touchscreen. On a laptop or desktop without a touch panel there is nothing to test, so touches never register. Open it on a phone, tablet, or touchscreen laptop instead.

What is the maximum touch points value?

It is the number of simultaneous touches your browser reports the hardware supports (navigator.maxTouchPoints). Ten is common on modern touchscreens; some support fewer.

Is my input uploaded?

No. Touch positions are used only to draw on the pad in your browser. Nothing is recorded or sent to a server.
