Adjust the sensitivity threshold if a soft intro is being cut or background hiss is being kept — a lower threshold keeps quieter sound, a higher one trims more aggressively. The detected region is shaded on the waveform. Preview the result, then download it as a WAV. The audio is decoded and trimmed entirely in your browser and is never uploaded, so it works with private voice memos and keeps working offline.
Common questions
Does it remove silence in the middle too?
No — this tool trims the silence at the start and end of the clip, which is the common case for voice memos and recordings. Gaps in the middle are left intact so speech and music are not chopped up.
What does the threshold do?
It sets how loud a sample must be to count as sound. A lower threshold keeps quieter audio (and less is trimmed); a higher threshold trims more aggressively. Adjust it if a soft intro is cut or hiss is kept.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The recording is decoded and analysed locally with the Web Audio API and trimmed in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
Why is the download a WAV?
Browsers can encode lossless WAV reliably but do not provide an MP3 encoder, so the trimmed clip is saved as WAV. It plays everywhere; convert to MP3 afterwards if you need a smaller file.
