Test your clicks per second

Pick a time window, then click the pad as fast as you can. The timer starts on your first click and stops on its own; your score is the number of clicks divided by the window length, shown as clicks per second (CPS). Short windows (1 to 5 seconds) measure burst speed. Longer windows (30 or 60 seconds) show how well you hold a pace. Your best score for each window is kept while the page is open so you can try to beat it. Clicks are counted the instant the button goes down, with the browser's high-resolution clock. It works with a mouse, a trackpad or a touchscreen, and nothing is stored or uploaded.

Common questions

How is CPS calculated?

Clicks per second is the number of clicks counted during the window divided by the window length. 32 clicks in a 5-second test is 6.40 CPS. The timer starts on your first click, so you never lose time reaching for the mouse.

What is a good CPS score?

Regular one-finger clicking usually lands somewhere around 5 to 8 CPS. Above 10 is very fast and usually means a special technique such as jitter or butterfly clicking. Short tests give higher numbers than long ones, so compare scores from the same window length.

Does it count right-clicks or held buttons?

Only the primary (left) button counts, once per press. Holding the button down counts as one click. On a touchscreen each tap counts, and with the keyboard each press of Enter or Space on the focused pad counts.

Can a worn mouse change my score?

Yes. A switch that double-fires adds clicks you did not make. If your score looks suspiciously high, check the mouse with the Double-click Tester.

Is my score saved or uploaded?

No. Clicks are counted in your browser and your best score lives only in the open page. Reload or close the tab and it is gone.
