Test your mouse online
Mouse Tester checks that every part of your mouse works. Move the pointer over the pad to draw a live trail that follows your movement — a smooth line means tracking is fine, while jumps or gaps can indicate a dirty sensor or a bad surface. Click inside the pad and the matching button indicator lights up: left, right, middle (the wheel press), and the back/forward side buttons if your mouse has them. Spin the scroll wheel to see the scroll direction and a running count of scroll steps. Use it to confirm a button registers every click, that the wheel scrolls both ways, and that movement is smooth. It all runs in your browser using standard pointer events — nothing about your input is recorded or uploaded.
Common questions
How do I test a mouse button?
Click inside the test pad with that button. The matching indicator — left, right, middle, or a side button — lights up while the button is held. A button that never lights up when pressed is likely faulty.
Why does right-click not show a menu here?
The tool suppresses the browser's context menu inside the pad so your right-click is captured as a button test instead. Right-clicking outside the pad behaves normally.
How do I test the scroll wheel?
Hover over the pad and scroll up and down. The tool shows the current scroll direction and counts scroll steps, so you can confirm the wheel responds in both directions and clicks (middle button) when pressed.
What do the side buttons test?
Many mice have back and forward buttons on the side. If yours does, pressing them lights up the corresponding indicator. Not seeing them is normal for a basic two-button mouse.
Is any of my input recorded?
No. The tool reads pointer and wheel events only to update the on-screen indicators in your browser. Nothing is stored, logged, or sent to a server.
