Because contracts and forms are private, everything is done in your browser and your document is never uploaded. Note this stamps a visible signature onto the page — it is not a cryptographic digital certificate, so use it where a visual signature is what's expected.
Common questions
Is this a legally-binding digital signature?
It adds a visible, hand-drawn or typed signature image to the page — the electronic equivalent of signing with a pen. It is not a cryptographic PKI/digital-certificate signature, so use it where a visual signature is acceptable, which covers most everyday forms and agreements.
How do I create my signature?
Two ways: type your name and pick a handwriting-style font, or switch to Draw and sign with your mouse, trackpad, or finger on a touchscreen. Either becomes a transparent image stamped onto the PDF.
Where does the signature go?
You choose the page and a corner (or center), plus a size. The live preview shows exactly where it will land before you apply it.
Does it change the rest of the document?
No. Only the signature image is drawn onto the chosen page; every other page and all existing content are copied through unchanged.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The signature is drawn and the PDF is rewritten entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. Nothing is sent to a server, which is exactly what you want for a private document.
