This calculator tells you how far apart two dates are, in several units at once. Pick a start date and an end date. The tool counts the exact number of days between them, then expresses that same gap in weeks, and works out the calendar difference in whole years and months. Order does not matter — if the end date is earlier, the difference is still shown as a positive span. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Common questions
How are the days between two dates counted?
The tool takes the number of whole calendar days from the earlier date to the later one. For example, from the 1st to the 8th of a month is 7 days.
How are weeks calculated?
Weeks are the day count divided by seven, shown with the leftover days. So 16 days is 2 weeks and 2 days.
How are months and years worked out?
The tool counts full calendar years and months between the dates, accounting for the day of the month, then shows the remaining days. This is the same way people say “2 years, 3 months, and 5 days”.
Does the order of the dates matter?
No. If you enter the end date before the start date, the calculator still reports the gap as a positive span, so you always get a sensible answer.
Are my dates sent anywhere?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you pick is uploaded or stored on a server — it is fully client-side and private.
